Grey pilot. Let me know how you are doing with the harness as I am contemplating getting one for my 5 month CAG Pancho. BTW. Is it an Avaitor you have?
I would be interested to hear how you are getting on. Any progress? Please let us know.

Hey guys, i appologize but for some reason i didnt realize that there were any responses to this. Well i am probably going to try to put it on him again when i get home from work in 3 or 4 hrs. I might take a quick run through of the dvd that came with it. i watched it before but i still must not be putting it on him correctly. there has to be a different way. In all, i think in the next couple of months i will def get the diaper thing because its killing two birds with one stone (haha what an appropriate analagy). Its collecting the poop and less irritating. Besides i think it looks better. The harness looks like.....well a harness, but the pics of the diaper suite i saw look like a sweater vest so ima try that. However, im still gonna work it out with harness the best i can. Darwin is pretty tolerant. it might put him in a bad mood for a few minutes but he cheers right back up around dinner time. Last night his breath smelled like sloppy joe HAHA.

Please keep me informd how you get on with the Aviator. I have read of many members who have bought it but really havn't really read of too many who are using it regularly.
I would love to hear from someone who uses it successfully. I am sure there are many happy users out there!

Hi
I have been using the Aviator for quite a while now.
It took about 3 or 4 weeks of playing with Roxy with the harness by draping it over her, letting her hold it, hanging it in her cage etc before I tries to put it on her.
She will now stand on her cage while I put it on her and lift her wings up to get it round her. She knows that once it is on she will get a walk (on my shoulder) around the garden and a shower with the spray (weather permitting).
Getting it off was a bit more tricky at first and I used to lie her on my knee on her back to be able to unbuckle it. But as she's got used to it she just stands on her cage and helps me take it off.

Thank you Judith for your input. One more question. How long would you say it is OK to leave the harness on. Would it be allright to leave it on for say a couple of hours. Sometimes I would like to take Pancho with me when I go out in the car.

Couple hours at a time is great. 1 1/2- 2 hours is recommended at first.

Roxy has worn her harness for about 2hrs at a time - just depends how interested she is in what we are doing. I've only ever taken her in the car in a cat box but I think she would happily wear. her harness in the car as she seems very interested in where we are going and whistling at the other cars

Thank you Dave! Sophie is under 400 gr and 11 months old. Is she still growing and going to get bigger? Or is she going to be small for a CAG? When do you guys think they get to their adult size? Thanks a bunch

I dont think they would grow much more after the 1st 9 months mine has been the same weight still about 6 months and there plenty of room in his harness. . so guess go for the smaller one.

Hi
Roxy's harness is a medium. When I put it on her I make sure that it's not too tight by leaving it so I can just get my finger tip underneath it.
For me there was only one colour - red to match her tail!!

Hey guys, well im giving up on the harness i bought him to begin with as i dont really see any way to put him in it comfortably without compromising his ability to walk and comfortably perch keeping good balance. I actually JUST today ordered the flight diaper suite which i found on several websites. I bought mine from Amazon because it was the cheapest with free shipping. This one should fit more like a vest from what i understand and does have a leash attatched. It also has a pocket to catch poop and keeps it away from the bird. Im really excited about this because ive been wanting to take Darwin out and about with me so many times but i know he wont enjoy it if that darn harness is irritating him. It will prolly be a week or two before i get it, but ill let ya know! THANX!
