I have both the Aviator and the Avian Fashion (bird diaper). The bird diaper is MUCH easier and faster to put on Sophie but I need to cut a hole in the diaper part (defeating the purpose of the diaper catching the poop Tongue) because Sophie's poop get to be too much inside the harness and she hates it and walks like a baby that just pooped his pants!! Cheesy

i forget where i bought my aviator harness, it was online from somewheres in the us...if you plan on taking him outside at all, use one (or the diaper suit like karine has, something!) at all times, no matter if he's clipped or not! ...also, be advised if you do decide to fully flight, it's something that (imo) is hard to take back, as you then would feel 'guilty' for allowing flight then to take that away  Huh is something i personally couldn't do...

...karine, you should buy one of those tuxedo diapers for jack  Grin http://www.flightquarters.com/bird-diapers/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AFF&Product_Code=Attire_Lg_FS_Tux&Category_Code=LB i think i'm gonna get cjs and nellie something 'cute' too, as they sound lots easier to put on and may come in handy if in a hurry to leave the house...

It is where I get my flight suits. But Nancy trying to put one on Jack would be like trying it on a dinosaur!! That is what he sounds like when I go near him!  Shocked

How does the diaper one attach to the leash? By the way, great site. I marked in favorites. I wanted the tuxedo one, but they're out of stock.

The leash has a double sided velcro at one end. The suit closes also with velcro. So you put the velcro from the leash in between the suit's closure.

Well, "Hello" all. Zulu's feathers are not full grown yet. My assumption is the end of the summer around September. Zulu still not confident in flying to me or a base. He gives up so quickly. He is in good shape now. Everyone who sees him says he looks beautiful. Appears to be a very happy bird. I just don't know what I can do to encourage him to come to me without giving up so easily. He is still quite jumpy with loud noises. I got the aviation diaper style harness. I have pinned it to my blouse and hung outside of his cage, and both totally frighten him to no end. I think though, he might be getting used to it. He still loves his scritches and cuddling. Any ideas out there? And by the way, he is in his terrible two's. Occassional attack without warnings.  Undecided

he might not be quite ready yet due to his feathers not fully grown...don't worry, he'll be flying after you every second of the day in no time  Grin

okay guys! After clipping all of Sophie's life, she is full flighted, and showed me how great she can fly! Did a perfect landing, on my shoulder. I am going to leave her "full flighted", see if she enjoys it. As we spend alot of time outside, UKREY recommended medium sized aviator suit. I am going for it. I guess it isn't fair, that other birds can fly, and she couldn't. ( not that she has complained!) Many have pointed out, that being able to fly, is a confidence booster! (I agree!) My problem, is the opposite! Sophie, has no problem with confidence! Just the opposite. She loves herself to death! If I let her be fully flighted.... do you think she will develop behavior issues, as I have not had that problem in awhile? I just want her happy!   Nancy M

You'll soon find that it's not at all behavior issues, it's simply that they are more confident in exploring things, knowing that they can now get away (fly) easily. Brave thing that you have done Nancy M and be extra vigilant now as you follow a no-lock policy.
I'm sure you'll enjoy her company even more, just be very very careful when you're outside with her, as we all have our flighted birds indoors, except for Shanlung, of course.

So as we know Sophie has probably been full flighted for some time, flies when she wants too, now has to be in a suit, she won't tolerate...what do I do about her desire to be outside? We have recently been attacked by a recent egg. I appreciate everyone's support including Feika, Carol and Ukrey. The new "egg", is very intelligent, but "impatient", for others to believe in their point of view.  My son, Ryan, doesn't understand why I do this website. He argues, if our birds are perfectly happy....why are you asking questions? My boys have tolerated me past several weeks.

Keep coming back nancy every so often someone comes on the board who doesn't understand the dynamics, sooner or later the harmony usually returns. By a suit do you mean a flight suit?
