Cheesy  I can't tell you how excited I am.  I've been wanting a grey for quite a while and I'm picking up Quincy this weekend.  We're actually going to call him Quinn.  He's two years old and I'll be the second owner.  I have an orange-wing amazon named Darwin, 28 years old.  I know I'm going to have to be slow and careful with introductions.  Darwin will be very jealous because I definitely belong to him.  Anyway, I would love to get any ideas about making Quinn's move to our home as gentle as possible.  I have to fly to Maui Sat. to pick him up and then I'll fly right back to Kona.  The drive from the airport is about 30 min., so he'll be in a kennel for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours.  I was thinking I would put Quinn's cage in my bedroom until he's comfortable with us.  Darwin's cage is in the living room.  Quinn is coming with his own toys and of course I've got new ones for him.  We also have 2 dogs (golden retriever and border collie), 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs and my two sons (ages 11 and 15).  So, any suggestions are more than welcome.

Hello ~waves~

Ohhhhhhh... you going have such fun with your new fella....

Welcome to the forum...  Quinn in a lovely name... and Darwin is the best... (Not that I am biased... even if it does so happen to be the name of my little angel  Grin ...  who is sitting on the curtain pole chewing at the curtains at this minute so maybe not such an angel.. Shocked)

Look forward to getting to know you on the forum and hearing all about you new family member...

hugs Janie xxx

My orange winged amazon gets along very well with my grey! Of course my grey rules the roost! Everyone is okay with that. Kiki, my amazon, was adopted as a baby.(age Cool Sophie, my grey, was adopted at age two (age 10). Sunny, rescued conure, is also around 10 years old. All get along, but Sophie makes the decisions. She will decide who's toy is who's. She keeps very little for herself. She is fair! They are a great team.   Nancy M
