Hi all, Darwin has taken to trying to preen me... or eat me... haven't decided yet.  He will go for freckles, hairs in fact any stray thing that he thinks should not be where he doesn't want it...  it can get quite painful... and when I tell him know he looks at me as if to say, 'What have I done?'

Is this normal...  am I dirty  Shocked  He especially likes trying to preen (eat) my face...  quite disconcerting...   Shocked Shocked

Do your flids do this as well?

hugs Janie xx

They do it to show their love not to show their janitorial services, you are his companion, his flock and he is doing what they do in a flock.

Janie.... your baby is bonding, and showing you, he is especially fond of you! They also will clean your teeth, worse than the dentist! LOLSophie, also tends to pull out hair, she feels I shouldn't have. I hope they are premature greys! Your baby is right on... for "social goals!" Keep up the good work. Darwin is doing just fine!  Nancy M

keep telling darwin how great he is!!!!They know it! a secure bird, is a happy bird! I hopefully will be addressing other issues, such as chewing, in next few weeks.I'm not sure, what the response will be, but I am determined,to help parents take control.   Nancy M

Darwin definitely rules this house now...  even now the curtain is hanging half off waiting for Stuart to put it back up.  I am to short to reach that high up.  For some reason this house was built for giants  Grin Grin Grin   He has eaten into a wooden curtain pole, eaten the back spokes of a chair, broken an ornament (stupid of me to leave it up), made little holes in the back of a door curtain from climbing about on it, and the funny thing is...  I never got upset at all at him...    oh he also pulled over a full glass of lemonade...  made a dreadful mess everywhere...  worried me, as Grey's shouldn't drink carbonated drinks as there bodies aren't built to get rid of the gas build up like (ahem) we do...  he's okay though...  Roll Eyes

He has pulled keys off my keyboard, pulled knobs off the stove, pooped into a thankfully empty coffee mug (dead centre as well, he was sitting above it on a kitchen cabinet), stolen food from our plates, and more besides...  he is a delinquent  and we love him to pieces...  Kiss

crikey and i thought jasper was bad.  Shocked

he once knocked over my mug of coffee leaving just a bit in the bottom and then had the cheek to ask me if it was nice  Cheesy

in just over three years he has almost stripped the kitchen bare of wall paper, tops of cupboards where i can treach him. took a strip from the top of the door too. made holes in the living room curtains (for ventilation and fresh air he says) and shredded the kitchen curtains to the point of extinction  Shocked

numerous other stuff but i cant remember, i think in about ten or twenty years we'll have no house left  Shocked Shocked

Janie, take everything Darwin has done, and multiply it by three! I thought things sounded pretty good! LOL I have removed the curtains in family , living and dining room. You are a GREAT mom! We try to keep some control, over our babies mess. I have sacrificed curtains and rugs in lover half of house. I have not been sorry!   Nancy

Jules, I was just talking to a friend who had two cockatoos, a grey, and several tiels, parrakets, a pair of Paralots and several other small birds.  She was just saying that her walls, blinds, and furniture are chew and torn and that one day she would wake up and be sitting on a cement slab(house foundation) with no house left at all.   Grin Grin Grin
